Maus tells the story of Vladek Spiegelman, a Polish Jew and Holocaust survivor, as he and his wife Anja struggled to survive under the harsh rule of Nazi Germany during World War II (1939 - 1945), and the suffering they experienced in the Auschwitz concentration camp during the Holocaust.
